Avocados are a great source of nutrients (Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, potassium, and magnesium), and are well known as the main ingredient in guacamole, which can be prepared for the palettes of both vegans and vegetarians. It can often be a challenge for vegans to make tasty snacks with easy-to-find ingredients.
If you are craving some delicious guacamole, here is a vegan-friendly recipe that is delightfully simple:
Ingredients for 1 bowl of guacamole:
- 3 medium avocados, peeled and chopped
- 1 medium ripe tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup yellow onion, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 limes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How to prepare this guacamole recipe:
Mix cilantro, onions, salt, and the juice of two limes in a large bowl. If you prefer a spicy guacamole, add some chopped jalapeños, depending on the level of spiciness you want. Let this mixture sit for around 10 minutes to let the flavors mix. Then, add the chopped avocados and mix well until you reach the desired texture – either smooth or chunky. After, add the diced tomatos and adjust the taste based on your preferences. You can garnish the top of the guacamole with some cilantro leaves. It’s as simple as that!
