Here are some tips to make healthy and nice-tasting juices!
High fibre juices work as a body cleanser: they help to flush out toxins and refuses. This pear and fennel detox juice is perfect for those getting started with juicing. Fennel facilitates digestion, reduces flatulence and cleanses blood and liver while pears is rich in fibre and gives a sweet taste to the juice; finally: mint is refreshing, digestive and antispasmodic.
- 1/2 fennel, clean and peel
- 2 pears, clean, remove the seeds
- 5 leaves mint, chopped
Chop up fennel and pears, put the pieces together with mint into the juicer. The large amount of fibre helps eliminating toxins.
If you don’t like the anise flavour of fennel you should try this cucumber, apple and carrot juice. Cucumber has a high-water content and facilitates diuresis; it has also detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties, while apple contains a large amount of fibre and pectin able to help intestine eliminating toxins, in particular unhealthy cholesterol. Carrots contain asparagine and daucine, both having diuretic effects.
Here is another great juice:
- 1 small cucumber
- 1 apple
- 1 carrot
Peel the apple (if you consume organic food you can keep the skin, as most of the benefits of fruits and vegetables lay exactly in the peel!), remove the seeds, chop in pieces; wash and peel the carrot, slice the cucumber. Put everything in the juicer and serve immediately.
CUCUMBER JUICE FOR ATHLETES
Those exercising burn energy and lose liquids: they need mostly to hydrate. Cucumber and parsley juice is the right one to replenish liquids and mineral salts lost during the workouts. Cucumber hydrates, orange contains vitamin C which is a powerful immunity booster. - 1 cucumber
- 1 orange
- 60gr parsley

Mallow or camomile tea is not the only way to relax: you can have a juice! Tomato, basil and cucumber juice is the right one to calm down. Basil has a powerful relaxing benefit due to its healthy effect on the nervous system. It facilitates sleep; it is antidepressant and helps fighting headaches. Tomato contains calcium and potassium, mineral salts containing nervousness, weariness and headache; so does cucumber.
- 3 ripe tomatoes
- 1 small cucumber
- 10 leaves basil
- 1 pinch of pepper
Clean basil and cucumber, peel tomatoes and put in the juicer. Drink immediately.
